The Cynon Valley Museum is now brighter than ever before. All three galleries this week have seen extensive investment in their lighting. This has included replacing older inefficient lights with new energy efficient LED’s and expanding the number of lights in the galleries improving the visitor experience and making the museum more accessible than ever before. These new lights are expected to last at least 20 years.

The decision to upgrade the museums lighting came following visitor feedback regarding the lighting. The Trust as a result of this feedback identified and applied for funding to invest in the museums lighting, which they were successful in applying to.

This has been an investment in the museum’s future, Museum Manager Charlotte Morgan said “The new lighting has revolutionised the visitor experience and reaffirms the Cynon Valley Museum Trust’s commitment to preserving and making accessible the heritage of the Cynon Valley”

The Cynon Valley Museum Trust would like to thank Welsh Government, and the Federation of Museums and Art Galleries of Wales for awarding the grant and to local Cynon Valley company Westville Electrical for installation of the new lighting.
