I was invited to attend the prize giving celebration at St John the baptist school located in Aberdare, to witness this wonderful occasion. The event was a massive celebration, of the outstanding achievements and talents of the pupils.

LEADER OF RCT COUNCIL ANDREW MORGAN

Also in attendance, was RCT Council leader, Councillor Andrew Morgan. Councillor Morgan gave an inspirational speech about, how he had taken an apprenticeship during his time in six form, within RCT Council and had excelled to become the actual leader of the Council.

DR SUSAN MITCHELL SEEN HERE BEING AWARDED HER MBE BY QUEEN ELIZABETH II AT BUCKINGHAM PALACE

Head teacher Dr Susan Mitchell – Headteacher MBE, BA (HONS), M.Ed.,PhD., N.P.Q.H. stated that she was extremely proud of her pupils achievement’s and would continue to keep St Johns at the foreground of education, for the people of RCT.

Also in attendance was local county councillor Gareth Jones, who stated that he couldn’t believe the sheer professionalism, of the students and was extremely passionate about supporting such a wonderful educational institution.

St Elvan’s Church in Aberdare

Father Robert Davies from St Elvan’s Church in Aberdare, was also in attendance, who is a Governor of St Johns school. Father Davies gave a final blessing and congratulated all the pupils on their superb achievements.

This was a truly glorious event and made me extremely proud to see such wonderful talent, from my hometown of Aberdare.
