Review| December 2018| Brett Salway

Set in the heart of Cardiff’s very affluent high street, sits the incredible fly by night. I was invited down to experience something truly unique. The decor has a beautiful zen feel to it which enhances the tranquil ambiance. I felt very relaxed and comfortable sitting in such opulent surroundings. I also have to mention the incredible blossom flower ceiling, that further enhances the exquisite setting.

I was presented with a beautiful selection of old and new world wines, which nurtured all the right senses. In particular the Changyu Cabernet Sauvignon, from the Ningxia region of China 🇨🇳was a favourite of mine. Which has powerful notes of blackberry fruit backed by hints of chocolate, fresh spice and black tea. I also enjoyed the Aglianico rosé wine, from the Campania region of Italy 🇮🇹.

It has subtle notes of strawberries and vanilla, which would be excellent with deserts or on long summer evenings.

They will also be pairing their wines with small plate dishes, to complement these beautiful wines.

I look forward to visiting again in the future.
